Jo Impey chaired our meeting this week, doing a wonderful job. We were joined by a number of guests, both friends and Rotarians interested in hearing from Aden Gartly, son of Geoff and Vicky, who has returned to Australia after spending a year in Finland on Youth Exchange. We were especially pleased to see two of the Club’s honorary members, Glenda Stahel and Janet Blainey.
But first Grant Perry took us to Mongolia for our International Toast to the Rotary Club of Narlag Ulaanbaatar and its President, Onon Khanoi.
Thanks Grant for another interesting Club to toast. We always gain a special insight to Rotary International through Grant’s research.
Aden presented his account of his time in Finland, telling us about his experiences at school and with his host families. He got to travel extensively in the Nordic region as well as getting to London.
He certainly enjoyed his year away but we’re sure he was happy to get home. Aden’s time away was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brighton in District 9800. We are grateful to Aden for coming along and sharing his experiences.
