Chairman this week was Tim Lynch, and we had as a guest, Colin Tyrus from Southern FM.
President Geoff acknowledged the contribution of the 20 or so members who helped at the Bunning Sausage Sizzle. Further mention was made about the invitation to members to be involved in the decision as to how the Club will support Bushfire relief.
Jo Impey promoted members joining her in the MS Melbourne Cycle and reminded members of the MS stall at the Market on the 2nd February. A dinner is also planned at Cilantro on March 19th—more details to follow.
Peter O’Brien spoke a little about bushfire relief, suggesting the benefits of teaming up with another Rotary Club in an affected area.
Re the Market, Alan Kempton clarified the current position regarding dogs—OK now as long as on a leash and under effective control.
Colin Tyrus from Southern FM spoke briefly about their operation. He pointed out that Champagne Charlize is a sponsor, as is out own Market. We look forward to hearing more from Colin at a future Club meeting.
Tim excelled himself in his sergeant’s session fining just about everyone, especially members Rener and Lewis for years of Rotary service, Republicans and Monarchists and Faye Weeks for her finger nails! Also, to mark Chinese New Year, he handed out some very authentic chinese hats—see pics. Well done once again Tim!
