Premier Dan Andrews Visits Rotary on Bentleigh Family Fun Day

Last Saturday, November 12th, the Bentleigh Community was out celebrating the completion of the new Bentleigh Railway Station. Our Club, the Rotary Club of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central joined in with the local Bentleigh traders to celebrate the completion of the Ormond, McKinnon and Bentleigh railway precincts. A fun day was had by all. One of the highlights of the day was the visit by the Premier of Victoria, Dan Andrews. It was great to see him there supporting the local community and chatting with the traders and Rotary. Nick Staikos, the local member for Bentleigh also attended. In fact it was a morning for the politicians. Tim Wilson, the member for the Federal Seat of Goldstein also dropped in and chatted with the young families. Cameras were clicking and the sun was shining. Many young families visited the Nicholson St Carpark and the queue into the Rotary Tent, our new ‘Gazebo”, extended itself out and around the tent. Greg, our president and Linda were busy making balloon figures for the children. Thanks to the Rotarians who attended on the day, namely Tony Ryan and his grandson, Peter O’Brien and his granddaughter Georgia, Chris Mara, Geoff Gledhill, Lisa Kinross, Geoff Gartly, Richard Wright, Larry Green, Zilla Roth and Charles Agius. And to you Charles, a very big thank you for the time you put in in liaising with the Level Crossing Authority to ensure the Bentleigh Market was successfully re opened on Father’s day after a 3 months closure – a genuine mighty effort. Thank you also to Linda for the balloon figure making.” Finally thank you to Lisa – the Gazebo is just perfect! Just ask Chris Mara who said “it’s the best I have seen”. See the photos for the fun of the day. Congratulations to RC of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central lead by our President Greg O’Shea.
