Message from our President

It was great to see such a good attendance for last Wednesday night fellowship night at the Cheltenham  Moorabbin RSL,  many members and partners including Larry and Sarahs  overseas visitors were there.
It was also good that we had a table attending the Springvale City Rotary Club fundraiser dinner at Maxims Vietnamese restaurant in Springvale. The dinner was in support of Helen Parkers End Polio Now, her DG partners project  and the raffle , which was  well supported by our club , raised over $1,200.00
Our guest speaker this week will be Luke Schmidt from Cheltenham Junior Football Club who will talk to us about our sponsorship support for the club this year and the great new initiative involving support a participation of ‘Neuro diverse’ young people.
Our guest speaker at our next meeting on April 24th will be Brent Govan, a new member and  a principal at Holmesglen Institute.
The next evening meeting at Cilantro is planned for May 8th and our special speaker will be Madeline Popper, an artist who will talk to us about how she has changed and developed her art since becoming legally blind. Partners and friends are welcome but please remember to book early and avoid disappointment.
Yours in Rotary  ‘Create Hope in The World.’
President Ron Brownlees

What an amazing evening this is, held at Maxim's Saigon Restaurant in Springvale.

From our Club we had President Ron and Marilyn, Peter and Linda O'Brien, Helen Nodrum, Margie Lucas, Tim Lynch, Jo Impey.
A special thanks, on behalf of (my) Helen to Linda O'Brien, Sam Langridge and Ron Brownlees for donating prizes to the raffle which raised $1,265.

District Conference 2024
Well, we had the District Conference this last weekend in Warrnambool.
I am so proud of the contribution of so many of the members of our Club. All of you contributed to the outstanding success of the weekend.
Having attended so many conferences in the past and watched other Clubs help their District Governor I knew how much "in the spotlight" it places the host club.
You all did such a great job. You made me so proud of my Club and I am so very grateful.

Also, David Liao's photos from the Conference are here.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
