This is the first club meeting conducted on “Zoom” after a tentative attempt on 1st April. Thanks to Geoff Gartley for organising it. It was pleasing to note that 21 members participated in this meeting. Some members who did not participate indicated that they had trouble logging in. Hopefully more members will join in the virtual meeting when they become familiar with the Zoom App.
President Geoff greeted all members and thanked Geoff Gartley for hosting the Zoom from his office. President Geoff reminded members that although we are going through unsettling and unusual times there will be much to do once the situation returns to “normal.”
Tony Grusd presented and update on the planning and work that the market sub committee has been undertaking. The focus is on signage, marketing and seeking ideas on making the market more interesting, diverse and user friendly. Alan Kempton advised members that refunds have been made to some stallholders and this process is continuing. Enquiries about the market has declined which comes as no surprise.
Each member was then given the opportunity to tell others about what is happening in their lives as a result of this ‘stay at home’ situation. Ian Ballantine advised members that he has joined the District 9810 Governor Elect selection Group.
The meeting concluded after approximately 40 Minutes. Thanks again Geoff Gartley for arranging this. The next Virtual meeting will be at 7.30am Wednesday 15 April.
PS: We missed Grant”s Rotary International Toast and learning about the country he presents.
A Happy Birthday to John Lehner on 9 April
