We are planning to be joined by members of the St. Marylebone Rotary Club. Their website is here.

We have been visited on two occasions by a member of this Club, Carole Harris and she has now proposed a joint meeting.

Carole last joined us on January 29, this year. Refere here.

It is expected that their members will be on Zoom as the 26th March is so scheduled.

They will be deliberately delaying their meeting until 8.30pm.

A number of Club members, including President Tim and his wife Angela, are attending District Conference in Bendigo over the weekend of 28-30 March.
Other members attending were Karin Soster (with Gary), Peter and Linda O'Brien, Ian Ballantine and Helen Parker and Bert d'Unienville

We will here from President Tim and perhaps some others about their experience.

This should dbe especially of interest to newer members who may be thinking of attending a District Conference in the future,

EVENING MEETING

We will be meeting at the Sandringham Yacht Club in the members bar/dining area. Meals will be ordered individually from the Club menu - ie there is NO FIXED COST.

Drinks will be available at bar prices.

It is ESSENTIAL that you book for this event via the registration link at left. You are welcome to invite guests but they must also be registered. If you are inviting a guest, can youi please ensure you include their address.

Club and licensing rules require names and addresses of all non-members. I will prepare a document with this information based on registrations to help avoid delays when arriving.
Dress is smart casual.

Note that Cilantro is closed during mid semester break.

This event will replace the Club's normal meeting this week.

This is a fellowship evening and members are encouraged to invite partners and friends.

We will be given a summary of the recent trip to Fiji undertaken by 6 members and a description of some opportunities the Club has to further support the people of Fiji.

In addition, we will be joined by District Governor Nominee, Emma Clark and fellow member of Emerald, Catherine Elfick

Club awards presentations.

This will be our last normal meeting for the Rotary year.

Our speaker this week is Dr Daryl Moran, co author of recently released book, In the Fight - about Australians and the war in Burma 1942-45.

Daryl is a past District Governor of District 9810. The following bio is taken from the publisher's page here.

Daryl Moran is an independent military historian who has had a long career as a professional educator and administrator in various schools including a two year posting to an international in India. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Daryl has published Empire’s Noble Son (2019) and is currently working as co-author on Resolute: Australian aircrew in the Burma Theatre 1942-1945, with Andrew Kilsby. His special interest in the Burma campaign was aroused during his time as an educator in India when he came across the graves of RAAF members killed in the conflict. In the Fight has given him the chance to further uncover many untold stories of other Australians in the theatre.

Forum welcomes local services and community
members to talk with police about what issues
are important in your community.
The forum will explore topics including:
• Current crime trends and crime prevention
• Family violence

• Road policing
• Drugs and drug related crime

The Neighbourhood Policing Forum will be run by a
Victoria Police panel and questions will be taken from
the audience throughout the event.

We are looking for Club members to assist on this day. Note that our duties DO NOT involve driving instruction. We simply help with the escorting around the students betw een their activities.

Colleen is actively involved with DIK, a project that manages donated goods for distribution around Australia and internationally. She is the new Secretary and Operations Manager for DIK, a position she fills alongside George de Souza. 

She is also the manager at Mentor Match.
