Message from our President - Ron's Ramblings
What a pleasure it was hearing from Lilli Franco who has taken over from Greg O'Shea as head of Le Cordon Bleu and the hospitality faculty at Holmsglen. Lily shared her journey which had us enthralled. And what a perfect speaker for the week of International Womens day. We look forward to seeing Lili around Cilantro and hopefully, joining us again in our meetings.
This week's meeting will be a bit of fellowship and a bit of business when we will be getting some updates fro Committee chairs. There may also be some discussion about Conference. Many of our members are involved in the organisation as the host club of the District Governor.
Please remember, there will be NO meeting next week as many of us will be making our way to Warrnambool or at least be a little pre-occupied. On behalf of DG Ian I would like to express my thanks to all the members who have helped in the organisation and to members who are attending the conference. A big shout out to Kevin and June Egan who are attending as well. We hope to see Kevin inducted very soon as our newest member.

NEWS FROM OUR SISTER/TWIN CLUBROTARY CLUB OF SAVUSAVU
URATA LOOKOUT CAFÉ In 2023, the Rotary Club of Savusavu in partnership with the mataqali Urata, whose land it is on, opened a lookout cafe above Urata Village. This project was all about economic empowerment of a rural community: up-skilling the local community, giving them a stake in tourism, environmental rehabilitation, establishing a highly attractive tourist stop on the Labasa - Savusavu road.
Larry Green was our chairperson for today’s club meeting at Cilantro, and called upon Alan Kempton to perform invocation and the Toast to Rotary and Australia. Charles, Neville and Karin joined the meeting via Zoom. Visitors included Kevin Siergesma, and Kevin Egan.

Tony R, Charles R, and Karin S joined the meeting via zoom. Ron welcomed visitors Kevin Egan, and Kevin Siergesma. Ron listed a number of apologies for today’s meeting.
Julie Reed was our chairperson for today’s breakfast meeting at Cilantro. Terry performed the Invocation and Toast to Rotary and Australia. Neville, Charles, and Karin joined the meeting via Zoom.

Night parkers : 1 Pedestrian count 650 Market Report: Understandably no plant stall holders today with temperature climbing into high 30,s and a Mombasa holiday weekend, but despite that steady pedestrian flow…….plenty of empty stalls including permanent stalls that are no longer being used. Great team effort in the heat, so well done to all.

A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
