Message from our President - Ron's Ramblings
It was great to meet our RYLA participant Henrietta and her family last week and following her presentation on what she considered a life changing experience, it was also good to hear her mother’s comment about the change and the difference it has made to their family. It was also good to see Matthew from Rotaract and one of the RYLA presenters Maria.
We also welcomed Eva Filinis from Holmesglen.
This week we will here from Rebecca Bennett who will speak to us about Stroke and the importance of recognising the early warning signs and new treatments available. Rebecca is Larry’s step-daughter and is a paramedic.
Thanks to all those who gave an indication of their possible involvement in the ‘Big Serve’ tennis tournament in Beaumaris in October where we will again have our bar-b-que skills on show.
Well done to Samantha and the social committee on a well attended and enjoyable dinner night out at the 50 Acres restaurant at Cheltenham RSL last Thursday night.
Do not forget, our meeting on August 9th will be an evening meeting at Cilantro.
Please take time to read the weekly meeting and market rosters in the bulletin, and if you are unavailable please let someone know before the event.
Yours in Rotary ‘Create Hope in The World.’
President Ron

Yesterday ( Saturday 22/7) I delivered the donations from club members to Impact for Women in Sandringham. They were very grateful to receive them especially as they were running low on toiletries.
Thank you again to everyone who so generously donated. It is much appreciated by me and those who will ultimately receive your donations.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
I remind members that you are responsible for the information contained in the Club's database. This includes, birthdays, phone numbers, addresses etc etc. Even your own photo. You maintain this via this link.
Ian Ballantine
A reminder to members to keep checking the calendar of upcoming events for evening and perhaps, one day, daytime events.
Thank you for being a subscriber to our Weekly Club Bulletin. I try to have it published each week by Tuesday morning.
If you would like to have something included please contact me at editor@rotarybmc.org.au and attach, as separate files, the words and any images (jpg files are fine, minimum width 820 pixels). Please DO NOT send information as pdf files.
Ian Ballantine, Editor.
