Message from our President

An excellent turnout for the club’s visit to Calvary Care/Bethlehem, Kooyong.
I do believe everyone was very impressed with the quality of the premises and the services provided by Calvary. A big thank you to Shannon and David and their staff for their hospitality, the generous breakfast and the time taken to show us around including the “Break out Room” furnished by funds donated by our club.
Ron met an old friend/staff member, Tony and Leonie also caught up with a friend whilst others told of relatives who were either nuns, staff, had been patients or in Sam’s case born in the hospital.
It demonstrated the importance of developing closer relationships with those community organisations to whom we donate, to not only to see the results and hear about the benefits of the donation but also to develop that partnership in care, a sense of being part of their organisation. By doing so we also increase and improve our visibility in the community.
Thank you to Linda O’Brien for organising the visit and to all the members who braved the wet and cold day to come along.
Today we will be listening to the story of Lyle Buntine, told by PDG Dr. Daryl Moran. Daryl will also have his book about Lyle’s story “Empire’s Noble Son” available for purchase.
This story is timely given that next Tuesday, April 25th is ANZAC Day.
Although Lyle’s story is during the First World War, the sentiments are the same.
I do hope you all invite a friend, relative or potential member to come along to this special meeting. If not this week, next week, or the following week!

Yours in Rotary,
Glenda

Please note NEXT week will be a normal morning meeting at Cilantro Wednesday, 7am for 7.10am
