Well, it looks like like spring has arrived, hopefully with the warmer weather attendances at our meetings will improve as the numbers have been very low over the last couple of months.
Last week we had an interesting update about Interplast from Janine, including the countries they operate in and the programmes they have created.
Whilst this weeks meeting has been advertised as fellowship and as such no guest speaker, there are two presentations to perform. One is recognising and celebrating John Mason’s contribution to Rotary and to our community.
The other is inducting Nicky Chung into our club. Nicky was a member of the Rotary Club of Wonthaggi. Wonthaggi is a South Gippsland town of about 9,500 people about 2hrs from Melbourne. Even though Nicky is a current member we should still formally welcome her into our Club.

Market Report: Cloudless and mild at start. Slight breeze.
Almost perfect day. Apart from two cars in the queue, another 4 stalls were sold. Also two late comers.
Important message to Market Leaders: New Computer
The iPad is NO LONGER. Entry of Market Report and Try Booking access is now done via new computer in the office. Refer picture at left. The procedure for its use is in the office.

Members Ron Brownlees and Julie Reid attended a students Market Day at McKinnon Secondary College at which the Interact Club, sponsored by our Club had a stall.
Our meeting this week was chaired by Jo Impey and our special guest speaker was Janette Etherington form the RC of Nunawading. Paul Ferguson and Larry Green attended the meeting via Zoom.
Janette attended our Club on behalf of Interplast - she holds the title of Coordinator – Rotary Engagement with Interplast. As most members should already be aware our very own Paul Ferguson serves Interplast as a member of its Board. Members should also be aware that our Club, and its members has been a very generous supporter of Interplast.

Rotaractors with intellectual disabilities learn life skills
Cleo the two-toed sloth, cute enough to break the internet, was blowing Megan Marrero’s mind. She and a small group of fellow Rotaractors were visiting an aquarium in the tourism hub of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and marveling at the slow-moving, upside-down tree-hanging creature. It especially captured Marrero’s imagination.
Olayinka Hakeem Babalola selected to be 2026-27 Rotary International president
Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, a member of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Nigeria, has been selected by the Board of Directors to become Rotary International’s president for 2026-27. His term will begin on 1 July 2026.
The Board, guided by the RI code of policies, conducted a special session to select the organization’s leader after the resignation of RI President-elect SangKoo Yun, who decided to step back from his Rotary responsibilities and focus on his recovery from recent cancer treatment.
Ron was our chairperson for this morning's club meeting at Cilantro. Guests included Colleen D'Offay, our guest speaker, and Nicky Chung. Charles and Karin attended via Zoom.
Ron commenced the meeting with 1 minutes silence in recognition and to honour the service of the 2 recently slain policemen in Porepunkah, and pay respect to their families. Terrible and very sad - our hearts go out to them. All of our community is impacted by such events.
Six club members were required as volunteers for the day which started for us around 9am and finished around 2.30pm. Morning tea and lunch was provided. Our duties were simply ushering around the six groups of students to each of six stations.
So, members who attended were:
Linda O'Brien, Pres Grant Perry, Paul Ferguson, Ron Brownlees, helen Parker and Ian Ballantine. Bert d'Unienville also attended and joined us on "our rounds".

I am very happy to convert your news into a story which will then appear in the Bulletin, but, more importantly, appear on our Website.
This will show any people coming to our Website what our Club is involved in and the projects we support.
So, please take some photographs and put together some words - I will do the rest. Please send me your photos in the highest resolution possible via email or WhatsApp. I will do the cropping etc. Please DO NOT send pics via SMS (MMS). These are next to useless.
Also, don't bother creating the article in Word or similar-just adds work. Just send the words and a few pics. I will do the rest.

A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is far superior.
