Message from our President

As president elect I spoke about my objectives for the year.
I want to see a harmonious club where we all work together as a team to achieve more .
I have met with our public relations coordinator and our membership coordinator in an effort to combine the skills of these 2 people to bolster our membership. They have some great ideas already.
I expect for all of us to supply our Program group with possible speakers. Prospective members want to come to our meetings to listen to people who have a story to tell. Like Linda O'Brien who spoke to us about her historic links to Sth Melbourne. There are potential speakers everywhere.
When potential members come they will see a  vigorous club who together achieve enormous things . You should be justifiably proud of your achievements.
Next week we meet at Onyx cafe at Reserve rd in Cheltenham.
Its a 7.00 AM start and they are ready for us .
I have a special thrill for you this week at Onyx, Darren Egar from Psychs on Bikes is going to speak to us about the things he does. Counselling the public who have been through traumatic experiences.

Yours in Rotary  ‘The Magic of Rotary’
President Tim Lynch

McInally Luncheon June 2 2024
A number of members from our Club attended the special luncheon held at the Cape Schanck Resort on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
The event was attended by the RI International President Gordon McInally and his wife Heather, who had generously agreed to "call in" on their way home from the Singapore International Convention.
The invitation was originally extended, and accepted a year ago.
Along with DG Ian, club members who attended were: Club President Ron Brownlees and Marilyn, Linda and Peter O'Brien, Karin Soster and Gary, Jo Impey, Helken Nodrum and Margie Lucas. Unfortuantely, Helen Parker was unable to attend as she has returned from Singapore with Covid and was home in bed feeling very unwell.

Pictured above are our club members surrounding President Gordon.

Click on read more for a higher res version of this photo along with a couple of others from the day.

I will post more photos when they become available.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
