Message from our President - Ron's Ramblings
An enjoyable evening was had by all who attended our last meeting at the Cheltenham RSL on Wednesday night, very informal and good conversation.
Earlier this month I sent out an email containing list of clubs that I thought might make a good group of other clubs we may wish to work or be involved with. At this weeks meeting I would like to hear of any suggestions in response to the questions I circulated on Sunday related to the groupings of clubs in our area that will be proposed by the Regionalisation project team. You should have already received an email from them regarding nominations for group leaders of those club groups.
Our meeting on October 4 will be back at Cilantro and our speaker will be local councillor, Hadi Saab, the Mayor of the City of Kingston.
Board members don’t forget the Board meeting on Monday October 9th.
The Rotary Club of Moorabbin is now meeting back at ‘The Buckingham’ in Highett due to closure of their previous evening meeting venue at Hangar 4 at Moorabbin Airport.
Yours in Rotary ‘Create Hope in The World.’
President Ron

Today’s meeting was a social evening where a group of approximately 20 members and partners enjoyed each other’s company and a lovely meal at Cheltenham RSL. President Ron called on Larry to perform Invocation before the following announcements were made:
Faye was our chairperson for today’s club meeting at Cilantro. Karin performed Invocation and Alan performed the Loyal Toast. Glenda and Charles joined the meeting via Zoom.
Former member, Richard Wright, was also a guest at today’s club meeting. Larry introduced Brent Govan, Principal of Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, who is interested in taking up Corporate Membership. A warm welcome was conveyed to all.
Paul was our chairperson for today’s meeting at Cilantro opening the meeting with an Acknowledgement to Country. Tony performed Invocation, and Faye performed the Loyal Toast. Charles, Helen, Marg, Glenda and Karin joined the meeting via Zoom.
Tony Ryan was chairperson for today’s evening meeting at Cilantro – a wonderful evening with club members, partners and guests. Made all the more enjoyable with a 3 course meal prepared by budding Cordon Bleu chef students in the final dinner for their course. The food was delicious. Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
I remind members that you are responsible for the information contained in the Club's database. This includes, birthdays, phone numbers, addresses etc etc. Even your own photo. You maintain this via this link.
Ian Ballantine
A reminder to members to keep checking the calendar of upcoming events for evening and perhaps, one day, daytime events.
Thank you for being a subscriber to our Weekly Club Bulletin. I try to have it published each week by Tuesday morning.
If you would like to have something included please contact me at editor@rotarybmc.org.au and attach, as separate files, the words and any images (jpg files are fine, minimum width 820 pixels). Please DO NOT send information as pdf files.
Ian Ballantine, Editor.
