Message from our President
Well we certainly got the timing right in terms of the market reopening with another great day last Sunday. We have also had a number of new and potential stall holders in contact with us about future opportunities.
I have not had any responses to my call for members to engage with DG Alma’s desire to establish a district Rotaract Club. If nobody comes forward this week I will contact Alma and advise her we won’t be participating.
Please consider the info Ian distributed relating to dining opportunities at Cilantro as they emerge from the lockdown, it’s a great chance for us to get together in a friendly and familiar environment. (Click here for details, Ed).
Looking forward to seeing you all Wednesday
All the best,
Geoff Gledhill
This week's meeting's speaker is Ken Miriams, Youth protection update WWC. Ken is Youth Protection Officer for District 9810
Please keep an eye on the Coming Events page of the website for a full list of meetings and events.

Members are reminded that the club's AGM will be held next week on Wednesday November 25. The Nominating Committee appointed by President Elect Helen Nodrum hereby advises members of its nominations:

Members are reminded that they can submit further nominations for any of the positions above until midnight this Friday to the Secretary at secretary@rotarybmc.org.au.
As it appears an election by voting will be necessary, members can expect to receive an email over the coming weekend detailing the process of voting via email as it will not be possible to conduct a secret ballot in a Zoom meeting next Wednesday.

Here is a list of dates when Cilantro is Open for a’la carte service and one Degustation Dinner. Like many Melbournians Peter and I took to walking daily during the recent lockdown, wandering our local streets and parks, watching the progress or lack of progress on building sites, admiring gardens, plants and decor. One of our regular walk locations is to Landcox Park, this walk would sometimes take us past the now empty site that was W.T. Grants Building and Garden Supplies in Nepean Highway, Brighton East. W.T.Grants was a bit of a institution in the area being a family business of more than 100 years, but sadly closed their doors many years ago selling a large area of land at the rear of the Nepean Highway property but retaining the shop front and a number of other buildings facing Nepean Highway.
Paralympic medalist and TV presenter Ade Adepitan, who co-hosts this year’s program, says that the eradication of polio in Africa was personal for him. “Since I was born in Nigeria, this achievement is close to my heart,” says Adepitan, a polio survivor who contracted the disease as a child. “I’ve been waiting for this day since I was young.”

and the following Sunday at 4pm - Sunday Sundowners
The sessions are informal chats about anything and everything Rotary – BYO topics or take up those brought by others. No need to RSVP just turn up. Meeting ID's and passwords tend to vary so they are not being published here. Check your email or our Club Events Listing here.
Team present. Michael Bury, Larry Green , Jo Impey, Tim Moran, Rob (Nomads) Bruce Fitcher (Moorabbin) & Ron Brownlees.
Great morning , good team spirit, all systems seemed to work well over, 2200 pedestrians through the gate again. Lots of happy stallholders.
Due to sellouts we have decided to open some extra stalls on December 6th and some more on the 13th, with more again on the 20th , virtually back to a normal market.
The single entrance appears to be working well. No major hassles during the rather warm but windy morning. Our regular entertainers have finally
been able to travel back to Adelaide for a while and we wish them well, they have organized another fellow –Arty – to fill in. Please welcome him.
