Message from our President
The past year or more has been trying for everyone but we can now see that the end is in sight as far as the pandemic's command over our day to day lives.
The RCBMC has even more good news and great things to look forward to as our very own Ian Ballantine has been elected District Governor nominee (designate). This means he is a couple of years away from assuming the role of District Governor in 2023-24, but nevertheless, locked in and on the pathway.
I’m sure you will join with me and offer Ian our strongest congratulations and best wishes. He is an outstanding contributor to our club and district activities more broadly, he is a fantastic Rotarian!
There is plenty of detail behind this announcement however for now we can just celebrate and congratulate and for the newer members take the time to really understand exactly what opportunities this exciting news means for both Ian and the club.
Ian, my sincerest congratulations.
Regards,
Geoff Gledhill

An update on Tony Grusd...
I spoke to Tony this evening, Monday and whilst I am pleased to report he is home from hospital, he is not yet "out of the woods". Without going into detail, Tony has been told to rest at home for several weeks whilst he undergoes his recovery. He has been told to suspend all normal activities which includes work and anything else which may impede his recovery, including Rotary! So we will not be seeing him for a few weeks.
I passed on the best wishes of the membership of the Club in wishing him a complete recovery.

Our Club meets weekly. It can either be a Zoom meeting, or an "in person" meeting.
Please check details of each week's meeting here or elsewhere in this Bulletin to confirm venue. You are very welcome to join us.
The District Training Assembly is an annual event aimed at informing club office bearers of the latest developments in Rotary in order to better prepare for their role. It’s not just for new office bearers. It’s an opportunity for the more experienced Rotarians to share their experience in a mutually supportive learning environment, aimed at strengthening all our clubs. It’s also a great opportunity for newer Rotarians to network and learn more about the “bigger picture” of Rotary and what happens beyond their club.
On behalf of District Governor Elect Dr Daryl Moran, PDG Tony Monley OAM, D9810 Learning & Development Chair, invites all members of our District to register for one or more sessions in this year’s District Training Assembly.
Les Marton (a Rotarian from Box Hill R C) was the guest speaker. He will also be the AG for RCBMC for the Rotary year 2021-2022. The topic for the presentation was the Concorde aeroplane.

Just a reminder to members, the above information regarding birthdays and anniversaries comes directly from each members information contained in the Club Runner (Rotary) database. As I have said before, it is up to each member to check, add or change information in their own profile. As editor, I do not enter this information into this bulletin. It is passed directly from the database.
