Message from our President
Despite last weeks comment this weeks report is ‘really’ the final one from me. The club presidents’ year actually ends at the same time as the rotary year, June 30th. So I guess I get a few extra days.
Thanks to all those who attended the Changeover Diner at Rossdale on Saturday. It was a night of good food, good fellowship, and great entertainment. For those of you who could not make it, you certainly missed an entertaining surprise guest.
Thanks must go to Linda O’Brien for organising another outstanding function.
Congratulations to our newest PHF recipients, Faye Weeks, Grant Perry, Linda O’Brien and Ian Ballantine for his substantial contribution to the Rotary Foundation.
Our program this week will be new President Tim who will outline goals and plans for the year ahead.
Next weeks speaker at Onyx, will be James Elias a pharmacist from Cheltenham.
Do not forget, the first two meeting is July are Onyx restaurant in Reserve Road Cheltenham.
Yours in Rotary ‘Create Hope in The World.’
President Ron Brownlees

Larry Green was our chairperson for today's club meeting at Cilantro. Paul Ferguson performed invocation and the toast to Rotary and Australia. Helen Parker, Charles Rener and Karin Soster joined the meeting via zoom.
Guests included Peter from the R.C of Beaumaris and Margaret, and our guest speakers Chris and Tania from the Moorabbin Proactive Policing Unit.
Plus we had a very important new member induction.........................
A number of members from our Club attended the special luncheon held at the Cape Schanck Resort on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
The event was attended by the RI International President Gordon McInally and his wife Heather, who had generously agreed to "call in" on their way home from the Singapore International Convention.
The invitation was originally extended, and accepted a year ago.
Along with DG Ian, club members who attended were: Club President Ron Brownlees and Marilyn, Linda and Peter O'Brien, Karin Soster and Gary, Jo Impey, Helken Nodrum and Margie Lucas. Unfortuantely, Helen Parker was unable to attend as she has returned from Singapore with Covid and was home in bed feeling very unwell.
Pictured above are our club members surrounding President Gordon.
Click on read more for a higher res version of this photo along with a couple of others from the day.
I will post more photos when they become available.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
I remind members that you are responsible for the information contained in the Club's database. This includes, birthdays, phone numbers, addresses etc etc. Even your own photo. You maintain this via this link.
Ian Ballantine
A reminder to members to keep checking the calendar of upcoming events for evening and perhaps, one day, daytime events.
Thank you for being a subscriber to our Weekly Club Bulletin. I try to have it published each week by Tuesday morning.
If you would like to have something included please contact me at editor@rotarybmc.org.au and attach, as separate files, the words and any images (jpg files are fine, minimum width 820 pixels). Please DO NOT send information as pdf files.
