Next Wednesday we are meeting at Aila which is at 286 Highett Rd. at 7.00 AM.
The 26/1/25 is Australia Day. I am so grateful to live here and for the great things that this country has achieved.
I wish you all have a special day on this significant occasion.
I hope you have had a good break and rejuvenated yourselves ready for another year of Rotary good work. We have some exciting things coming up.

REGISTRATION FOR MEETINGS All meetings will now utilise the Registration facility. asking members to register their attendance, or non-attendance, at Club meetings. Note that it is equally important that guests are registered as well.
Members can either register as soon as the event appears in the calendar or respond to the invitation(s) via email to members in the week prior to the meeting. This email will contain a direct link to the event registration page. Here, we ask that you either accept or decline the invitation. You will also have the opportunity to add any guests. Once registered for the event, you will no longer receive an email for that event.

About 30 members and partners attended a great evening dinner to celebrate the holiday season on Sunday evening, December 15, 2024.
The venue was the Olympic Room at the Sandringham Yacht Club.
The meal was excellent, as was the venue. Most came a little earlier to enjoy some pre dinner fellowship in the member's lounge area with it's magnificent outlook over the Club and Port Philip Bay.
The staff at SYC couldn't have been more efficient or pleasant.
The event was organised by Linda O'Brien who also prepared the table decorations.
The evening was such a success, I'm sure we'll be choosing this venue once again.
Today's club meeting was our last in 2024 and also our festive end of year meeting to celebrate holidays, Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever anyone desired.
President Tim presided over the meeting, whilst Charles R zoomed in on Zoom.
The morning's events commenced with a True or False quiz game presented by our own Quiz Master - Larry Green. We found not too many of us were very knowledgeable, with lots of questions finding us scratching our heads. We then moved to an activity less challenging for everyone - with a fun game of "Pass the Parcel to the Left or Right" following a story of Father Christmas who mislaid his special bag for delivering presents to all the good children of the world. The last person holding the box on each table was the lucky winner of a supply of delicious shortbreads made by our newly crowned President Elect Grant Perry.
Rotary Club Bentleigh Moorabbin Central joins with Glen Eira Council and Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre to recognize international day for people with disabilities.
On Wednesday 4th December, club members Peter and Linda O’Brien, Margaret Lucas, Gary Ramage, Dr. Helen Parker, Sue Loeliger, Bert D’Unienville and friend of Rotary Ian Cooper celebrated this day by joining with council and GESAC to provide the catering mainly through cooking the bar b que and serving the upwards of 300 people in attendance.
Our partnership with council is valued and we appreciated the opportunity to join in at this important event and show our support to all facets of our community.
This club will look forward to continuing our involvement each year.
Barry Oliver was our chairperson for today's club meeting at Cilantro. Margaret Lucas performed invocation and the toast to Rotary and Australia. Guests included Bert d'Unienville, Gary Ramage, and our guest speaker, Bryce Alman.
Helen Nodrum was the chairperson for today's club meeting at Cilantro which included our club's annual AGM, and a club visit from our District Governor Colin Byron and Community Leader Wil Conneliusen.
Terry Kane was chairperson for this week's club meeting at Cilantro. Neville performed invocation and the toast to Rotary and Australia. Guests included Jim Magee and Bert d’Unienville and our two guest speakers from Wheelchairs for Kids - Grant Klaaysen and Russell Hayes.
Some years ago Rotary International declared their strong and commendable stance on Diversity Equity and Inclusion and expects all members to be familiar with this code of conduct and abide by it.

Night parkers : 0 Pedestrian count Heaps Market Report: Chaotic start to the morning with around 12-15 people either parked behind the shops or milling round the office. Because of no-shows I was able to accommodate everyone - despite some very touchy moments. Two buskers provided entertainment.

Night parkers : 1 Pedestrian count 1500 Market Report: A fully booked market, though quite a number did not turn up. Fine weather, a little on the cool side. Pedestrian flow was constant throughout the morning and stalls seemed to be busy.

Unfortunately Theo’s last day here today, he will be missed and we wish him lots of good times to follow. Stall #18 is away all of January.

Waiting in queue: 10. Night parkers : 1 Pedestrian count 1,100 Market Report: Quiet friendly market. Lots of empty stalls making it easy to accommodate 10 extra stalls sold on the day. Weather was hot and humid, thankfully we beat the rain. Stall #47 wishes to relinquish permanent booking from February onwards . Wonderful having Holland team here today to help with pack up

Waiting in queue: 0. Night parkers : 1 Pedestrian count Market Report: Hot day. Chaotic early but settled down. Some people complained that online bookings said market was full, but unsold report suggests otherwise due to regulars/reserved. A few gaps in the market due to no-shows and regulars away.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is far superior.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
