Minh Nguyen has been a member of the Rotary Club of Keilor East, Victoria, D9800, since 1999. He was also a member of ROMAC in 2003-2006. Minh has a background in mechanical engineering and retired from his job as a project manager in 2022.

We need some members to volunteer to provide assistance with  providing a BBQ for the Open Day on Thursday 15th August from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Moorabbin campus

Don Elgin  is an Australian Paralympic amputee track and field athlete who won four medals at three Paralympics.

A special evening meeting. Guest speaker Tim Wilson, former member for the Federal seat of Goldstein. President Tim has invited Tim to speak to us - topic: "The challenges facing Australia" .

Our guests this week will be from Cheltenham Secondary College. Our Club sponsored the Year 11 students to attend the RYDA day held on August 19th, 2024.

We will be joined by Peter Allen, Assistant Principal - Teaching & Learning and two students who attended the day, Atika Saysouk and Lauren Hermann.

All members are encouraged to attend this meeting and listen to our guests talk about what we all considered a very successful day, and program.

Denise Grocke is Associate Professor and Head of Music Therapy at the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She directs the undergraduate and graduate programmes in music therapy and the Graduate Diploma in Guided Imagery and Music (Bonny Method), and is Director of the National Music Therapy Research Unit

The two speakers are Jennifer Cloke and Jenny Pudney from Mordialloc/Mentone Rotary Club to talk about a possible pilot project involving Bayside rotary clubs around homeless women and families sleeping rough in our local communities.

Special Club visit from District Governor, Colin Byron

The club will also conduct it's Annual General Meeting 

Our special guest speaker is Bryce Alman and his subject is "living with quadriplegia.

Bryce is an Australian Paralympic wheelchair rugby player. He was part of the Australian Steelers at the 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and won two silver medals with the team in 2000 and 2008.

Volunteers are required to help man a Bar B Que at this special day at the Glen Eira Sports Centre.

Setting up from 10am and cooking from 11am

Join us for a special dinner in the Olympic Room at the Sandringham Yacht Club on December (Sunday) 15, 2024.

Dinner (3 courses) at 6pm preceded by drinks in the member's bar from 5 or so. Final arrangements to be confirmed.

First meeting for 2025 will be at the Aila Cafe - address above. Note that the cafe is adjacent (west) of the entrance to parking area for Woolworths. (off Highett Road).
