Bayspeak is live and underway for the second year in a row.
Bayspeak brings together the most talented senior and junior secondary school students from the Bayside and surrounding area to compete in a speaking competition, with an aim to build confidence and harness leadership qualities.
On Tuesday 10 May the 1st heat of the competition was held at Brighton Grammar School.
The students were given 5 minutes to present on their own topic of choice. Topics were vast and covered subjects such as the Internet, homework, politics, lowering the legal age of voting, the future of our environment, fast fashion and the Met Gala.
The students were all very impressive. A very talented group that would have made their schools and parents very proud. Six of the top talented students from heat 1 will now go into the finals to battle out for the top junior and senior trophies and cash prizes.
Bentleigh Moorabbin Rotary Club are proudly supporting the delivery of this competition alongside the Rotary Clubs of Brighton, Brighton North, Cheltenham and Sandringham and Bayside Toastmasters. The event is being sponsored by McDonald, Slayton and Lay Lawyers, Mentone.
