In a carnival atmosphere, 50 Rotarians and their family and friends  gathered at Cilantro Restaurant to welcome our exchange student Jade Reis Costa.
The evening started with both national anthems of Brazil and Australia and a presentation of the Brazilian flag to Geoff by Jade and in return Geoff Presented Jade with an “Aussie Tee Shirt”
We learnt a lot about Brazil the country, the food, the people, the music, the customs. We welcomed and enjoyed the support of other Rotary clubs with members from Glen Eira, Caulfield, Cheltenham and Brighton clubs along with Barrie Vickers attending on the night.

Catering was brilliantly done by Carla and Roberto from Caulfield Rotary and we all enjoyed tasting the delights of Brazilian foods.
In the background Brazilian music and singing was enjoyed by all.
We are so lucky as a club to enjoy the facilities of Cilantro Restaurant through Greg O’Shea and the support of Tony Fritzlaff and Soshi who did a sterling job behind the bar keeping our vocal chords lubricated.
