I had the pleasure of attending the South Caulfield Community Centre AGM and dinner on Monday last, 17th October.
This event was conducted in the Chapel area of the community centre. Those in attendance included the Governing Board members,
Salaried staff and volunteers, along with Faye Kirkwood and Merv Ritter from Rotary Club of Caulfield.
Our association is in regard to the Community Garden and Chatty café located within the garden area.

The theme for the community house last financial year has been “Creating community so that we can grow”.
In the first two terms of 2022, 565 classes have been run with 3510 total participants. Total class hours 772.
So, this is a very busy, vibrant community which is capably managed by Tracey Burt.

I am pleased to report that the funding we provided in the last Rotary financial year enabled the garden section of the
Facility to complete the “nature strip gardens” so that they now encompass the entire nature strip area of Jupiter St.
Another great feature of our donated monies is that the Garden manager, Deb Punton, has written a “sustainable
Gardening course” and the first intake of 8 students have completed the course with glowing feedback and as such
future courses are now planned.

Any club member is warmly invited to attend the Chatty Garden Café on any Tuesday morning 11am to meet and greet and
see firsthand the great work this group of people do and the outcomes from our donated monies provided.
