In these challenging times we now face, I would like to acknowledge and thank the team in District 9810 for delivering “online” this year’s Rotary Assembly.
I am not sure how many of our members took the opportunity to link in on Zoom, but I was fortunate enough to join on two occasions.
One was for Chairpersons of the Youth committees, a session I really enjoyed and was heartened to hear from others that we all face similar challenges and that our club’s roadmap here is in sync with other clubs and District expectations.
Second Assembly was “Running Productive Meetings”, with guest presenter Mr. Karl Hughes from Toastmasters. 27 Rotarians from 9810 joined for this session. A very accomplished presenter who gave lots of good tips for running a productive meeting.
My notes are readily available to share with anyone else who may be interested. Just let me know.
Below is a excerpt from a letter received which gives the opportunity to revisit these sessions should anyone wish to do so.
“Hi all
On behalf of District Governor Elect Alma Reynolds, can I thank and congratulate you for your participation in this year’s District Assembly.
We broke new ground this year, delivering the Assembly “virtually” and I thank you for your patience and engagement in this innovation.  If you missed a workshop, video recordings of most workshops will be available on the District Assembly page of the District website next week.  Also available will be a video recording of DGE Alma’s Assembly message on theme and goals for the year – we encourage you to run this video at a club meeting in the coming weeks.”
Stay safe
