On this Australia day 2021 we were proud to join with our cluster clubs, Moorabbin and Mordialloc to engage with community to clean up our beautiful Karkarook Park, utilising all the guidelines for covid safe environment.
More photos can be found in an album here.
The theme for our day was:
REFLECT – on the beauty of nature around us
On the efforts of healthcare workers in looking after the ill
RESPECT – the parks grounds, waterways and animals
CELEBRATE – our country Australia, the freedom and benefits that living here allows us

A thank you book was on hand and was signed by all participating in the day, this was directed to the health care workers who battled and continue to do so against Covid and the care they give for all affected by this dangerous virus.

The public were invited to join with us on the day and provided with rubbish bags, gloves and pick-up claws to collect rubbish as they walked around the park areas. In all well over 30 bags of rubbish were realised. As a thank you our Rotary clubs provided a free sausage sizzle and drink BBQ for everyone.
Our club’s thanks are directed to
Alma Reynolds and her husband Greg for joining us during the day.
Tim Lynch, Ray White Real estate, for donating the billboard advertising the day, which was placed for all to see as you entered the park
Kevin Davidson, for an excellent covid safe plan, which ensured our insurance coverage
Ian Ballantine, for the artwork and flyer advertising the day.
Finally, to the membership of RCBMC for their participation and support.
